Once the filter was recieved my 14 year old son then installed it when it came in using the refrigerators water filter installation instructions. Be sure to follow the WATER FILTER INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR MODEL OF REFRIDGERATOR! I have found instructions for refrigerators online prior to installing any water filters (I have 4 refrigerators I maintain). In my experience "as a minimum" you should ALWAYS be sure to turn off the refrigerators built in automatic ice maker before removing the water filter, then I run several glasses of water through the refrigerators water dispenser. I do this using a large sized clean/clear water glass, and then run the water from the refrigerator dispenser until the water in the glass is coming out of the refrigerator dispenser clean and clear.
