I was skeptical after reading the not so favorable reviews but this thermometer is not for environments below freezing, so, I decided they would be fine for wine refrigerators for temperatures between 55 to 65 degrees F. The thermometers hang from the front of the wire racks and is visible through the tinted glass door with the large easy to read display. This thermometer is not for the freezer, the package even says to not use below 32 degrees F and it will probably fog up if exposed to that low of a temperature due to the thermometer's case not being environmentally sealed. If you need a freeze thermometer, use a probe type sensor with an external readout. My refrigerator has glass shelves, so I'm not able to hang it anywhere, but the hook folds down behind it and becomes a little stand, so I'm able to place it where ever I want it. I was hoping to be able to also place it in the freezer compartment sometimes, but it gives an error code whenever the temperature gets below 32 degrees. It would have been helpful if the directions that came with it had explained why it randomly shows "LLL", but I had to figure that out the hard way. The glare is annoying (hard to read the temperature part II). I use its stand to store it on a shelf (the hook didn't work for my fridge) so it gets tosses around like a ping pong ball as I move things around (can't read the temperature at all...). |
